who we are
As a community of faith, following in the way of Jesus, we endeavor to live our lives around certain practices. These practices form us around our belief in Jesus and steer our lives in the way of Jesus. These practices include:
Personal and Corporate Worship - We endeavor to live our lives in response to God's great love displayed through Jesus. We call this worship. We do this as individuals and as a community together in Gathering meetings, and in acts of service and kindness.
Prayer - We believe that all of creation was created for a relationship with God, and that through Jesus, we have this. With this in mind, we believe that we are called to pray or communicate with him. This is a source of strength, focus, and direction for us. Prayer is always to be accompanied with action.
Scripture Reading - We practice reading the Bible, the collection of letters and books that tells the story of God's plan of redemption. Through this practice we are formed in the way of Jesus and we realize that the story we read within those pages is our story as well.
Giving - We believe that everything we have comes from God, and that he calls us to respond by giving back when he calls us to. This includes giving to the local church, the vehicle through which Christ is working, and also giving to others in need, as individuals and a community. Giving is close to the heart of God.
Communal Actions - We understand that Christianity is not a solitary endeavor, but must be lived within a community of believers. We endeavor to truly live life together. Through House Church, our Weekend Gathering Services, and other life activities, we truly strive to be a community.
Social Justice - God came to save the least, the last, and the lost. This is our call as well; to speak up for those that do not have a voice. We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing justice to the unjust. We endeavor to partner with other organizations to reach out for Social Justice.
